Relating to the stress experienced by some young adults about their sexuality.

Few weeks back, I have a good friend who called me and cried, telling me that her early 20s girl confided to her that she is a lesbian.

She and the husband are heartbroken (only child). Tonight, I am bringing her to watch a movie, Boy Erased. I read about the movie and I think the content maybe suitable for her to deal with her struggle towards accepting her girl for what the child is really is at the moment (may continue to grow and mature in one way or another). Perhaps my friend and her husband need to attend counseling even though she feels that her child needs that more than her.

Everyone feels 'stressed' in the family.

... This frn is a 品学兼优 girl since pr school (PSLE 260+, O Levels 7 As, etc)...
I don't see how this is relevant. Good academic result or bad academic result, everybody makes mistakes.

Not related nor relevant.
But Annabel Chong was formerly GEP, RGS, HCJC and scholar.
Just saying.

Honestly, I am disturbed by people who comment that they hate their parents forcing them to “work hard” and they will not do it to their children. I once had one friend who said such things and that friend is very successful in life enjoying a lavish lifestyle.

And for those in 30s-40s who suddenly wake up to realize that they have a “missing link” somewhere, probably their lives are too good and they don’t have much worries. Imagine if they have a whole family waiting for them to feed or bedridden parents, how to wake up from such nightmares? I once read about a Singaporean man who held two jobs, one day job and one night job (as security guard) as he was the sole breadwinner and he passed away due to overwork. He definitely doesn’t have the luxury to wake up suddenly to seek “missing links”?

Blame parents for making them work too hard. Not successful, blame parents for not making them work hard. Blame parents for being too strict. Get thrown in jail, blame parents for not
being strict enough in teaching them right and wrong...

Are we talking about teenagers here? :faint:

Blame your father, blame your mother, blame your sisters, blame your brothers, blame the school, blame the teachers - but never blame yourself.
It's never your fault.
But it's always your fault, because if one wanted to change, then you're the one who has got to change.

This reminded me of 2 of my friends. One blamed her parents for not letting her marry her then boyfriend and another blamed her parents for letting her marry her boyfriend.

her case is rather tragic. she was gang raped in UK and life kinda spiralled downwards.
