What kind of opera? Chinese or English? Are you looking for "musicals" such as the Phantom of the Opera or Les Miserables?

The Phantom is starting at Marina Bay Sands on 16 July.

Marina bay Sands :thankyou:

I watched The Phantom long long time ago, enjoyed it very much.

Really? I love Phantom of the Opera. Caught it the last 2 times they were in Singapore. Think I will bring DD this time round.

Always thought Phantom, Les Mis, etc were musicals. When you say opera I think of Carmen, Aida, Don Giovanni.

Hmmmmm maybe it's like music, Phantom of Opera types are like popular opera, while carmen types are classical opera heehee

Jennifer,

Know that you are referring to your teenager but when dd1 was a toddler I went a bit crazy and bought this http://www.fishpond.com.sg/Music/Worlds ... 8478434123

It's translated into Eng, if you wish to buy the CD, comes with a workbook.

Or just refer to the list as a starting point and borrow the DVDs from Esplanade Library to watch the performance

I missed Cats when it was in Singapore and never forgave myself for that. I already watched Phantom in NY, so I'm going to give this one a miss. I wonder if Chess is ever going to be played here.

Yes. Opera = Carmen, Madame Butterfly, etc... I don't enjoy them because I have absolutely no idea what they are saying.

Not in English?

There is a Shakespeare in the Park Othello he is interested in. I am afraid I might fall asleep while watching :rotflmao: Told him to find some classmates to go with him, but he's unwilling
