Magazine subscriptions for teens

Postby slmkhoo » Thu Jun 27, 2013 8:51 pm

Can anyone suggest good magazine titles for mid-teens? I'm interested in more general knowledge/world affairs types. The ones I remember from my youth are Readers' Digest, Time, Newsweek, Economist. Are there any other newer ones? What is the most economical way to subscribe? I know libraries would have them, but we would like to have some lying around the house - the kids are more likely to read them that way!

We are subscribed to BBC Knowledge, Time and Readers' Digest. Takes up all our time just to read these already :)

Um... is it academic? My son will vomit if I throw any more stuff that resembles class work to him...

I would highly recommend BBC knowledge, a wide coverage of different interests and Broader Perspective.

By subscription. If I remember correctly, they are/or are linked to some educational/charitable organisation which runs writing classes.

Another magazine is Present Perfect. It is also by the School of Thoughts.

It will likely be useful for those who are doing the "O" level as there is a Comprehension section whereby the format is in accordance with the new syllabus starting from 2013.
