Wah... i think the Principal will have to spend time write report liao... even if it's a case of not knowing the communist link and just selecting the song for the rhythm.

Indeed not a good choice, esp. with the negative perception/sentiments of a lot of things Chinese now in Singapore.

No headache for MOE, because PM took photos with the performers and put the photos on his Facebook. Principal must be thinking, heng ah...

Now headache for PMO.

On a more serious note, it shows the ignorance among those who really should know better. The lack of cultural knowledge...three generations worth of it...

IMHO I do not find anything about the song lyrics that has promoted communism or for that matter mentioned about communism.

IMHO, if it is a love song written for a lover or just to make money, then regardless of who penned it, another person from another country singing it will be viewed with less criticism.

In this case the lyrics suggest that it is a song written to glorify (ok, maybe there will be a better word than this) a country, and that country is almost certainly China, so to use this song to commemorate Singapore's National Day is not so appropriate, as the countries are quite different, despite the obvious link of the Chinese race in Singapore.

You don't have issue on these 2 line?

Who use

This song is very clear cut, it is for China

And you need to understand who is the singer
She is China Communist Party singer. Sing song to promote Communist , loyal to the party
