Marking & Returning of Composition Assignments

Postby buds » Tue Sep 03, 2013 2:16 pm

1. Which level is your child in and how many written pieces has your child done up to now (Sept)?

2. Are the works marked in detail or just a tick plus a one-liner feedback?

3. Are the works scored or just stamped with a good work/good effort?

4. Are the works returned to your child for parent's perusal and signature?

5. Do the teachers ensure that the corrections are made for the marked pieces?

P2, 5 pieces of work

Marked in detail. Her teacher would show how the sentences could be better phrased.

3. Are the works scored or just stamped with a good work/good effort?
Both. Scores are based on content and language use. Usually, there will be some encouraging comments.

4. Are the works returned to your child for parent's perusal and signature?
Yes

5. Do the teachers ensure that the corrections are made for the marked pieces?
Depending on the number of mistakes.

To update:

term 4 started and something new for eng compo too.

This time round for eng compo, the rubics for content, organisation and lang is attached to the 3 pics compo. The marking is more detailed. The tr also included more constructive remarks.

No marks or grade given.

dd1 has to re-write a 2nd draft.

I have to sign off her first draft.
