I am looking for that too. For those with Robinsons credit card, would you be able to get the usual card discount with it?

you can try toyhunts at great world city which offers discounts for members and they have periodic store wide promotion, usually 20%.

there is a brickworks that are in Suntec, Ngee Ann city and marina square that do likewise.

both toyhunts and brickworks are lego specialty stores.

Is it correct that you need to accumulate $300 within a year to be a member?

Yes, unless you are willing to buy membership.

Go to http://www.bricksworld.com for more info. As a member, you get automatica 10% off everything.

But be careful ah, going to the site always makes me wanna spend money..... :moneyflies: I've been eyeing the 5000-piece Millenium Falcon for ages.

I can't remember the amount needed to apply for membership. I am having the impression is more like $180-$200 region ... but that was a few years back.

My bro-in-law went toyhunt to buy birthday present for my DS years ago, and found out about the membership discount. So we mobilize everyone to purchase their birthday present to DS there; and wa-la; we have enough to apply for membership.

The cheapest way is to get someone who is traveling to USA to carry back for you

http://www.lego.com

For example, a set that costs USD 79.99 can cost SGD 169 in Singapore.

Note that is not advisable to ship from USA because the package is bulky and can easily cost you SGD 60 in shipping charges. So the best is to ask a friend to carry back free of charge.

One more thing - if you sign up for a Toys R Us Star membership, you will get rather regular heads-up on their Lego clearance sales. I think Lego and TRU have a close relationship here.

And if you do get wind of a sale, go early. :|

Hi,

Thanks all for the feedback.

I was about to order from LEGO US, luckily my friend reminded me about freight cost, otherwise i might end up paying more.

IF you go up to the 7th floor of Plaza Singapura, look inside Simply Toys. They are another significant lego retailer here. So, one mall, two Lego retailers.
