Believe they are discouraging donations of used clothings, shoes and medical supplies, citing logistical reasons...including space constratint over at the disaster areas.

verybewildered wrote:You can also google for "sgfreecycle". It's pretty much a group that allows you to offer for free whatever you wish to donate and see if anyone happens to need it. Of course, you also get informed when someone is offering something for free, and grab it if you want, pretty cool.

:thankyou: I found the link :https://www.facebook.com/groups/sgfreecycle/

This is the confirmation:

"Do u have old clothes, blankets or slippers to give away? U can help the Filipino victims of the typhoon. We have a friend who owns a cargo shipping company & is collecting items to be shipped there.
Please collate your items and bring them down to:
Gaden Shartse Dro-Phen Ling
12 Guillemard Lane
Singapore 399878.

Impt: Please bring your items down to GSDPL by 16th Nov, this Saturday 5pm.

Sorry for the short lead time because we need to send the items quickly to Philippines. They are very much in need, esp for clothes to change.
For ease of transportation, collection is limited to only clothes, blankets & slippers. Pls do not bring anything other than these.

Your timely help at this needy time is really deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
If U do not have any items at the moment, at least Help pass the news."

Good morning everybody,

Before you head down to this centre with your donations . Please check their Facebook update. It seems that they need to hold back donations...as centre is running out of space.
Here's the link

Please check first....before going down... :thankyou:

The next swap is Tuesday, June 7th from 7-9pm. Held at Carry On Cafe (348 Tanjong Katong), it's $25 at the door and all money raised goes towards Habitat for Humanity house building.

What to bring: anything and everything you aren't wearing that's in clean and decent condition. All seasons of clothing welcome; bras too! Women only. Fun door prizes, cakes and wine on offer and a friendly social buzz while we hunt through the treasures on the table.

H&M - Give old clothes a new lease of life

Be it a pair of scruffy jeans, tattered top, or any past seasons' fashion, drop them off at collection boxes placed at every H&M store in Singapore. H&M will then turn pre-loved clothing into new fashion. You receive one voucher of 15% off for each bag you hand in, with a maximum of two vouchers per day.

I've actually seen people who give their clothes a new lease of life by turning them into bags, etc. If anyone wants a contact can pm me (:

If not for donations I usually find people who are going overseas (those school CIP trips usually need clothes)..
