Couples Showering Together

Postby CuriousHippo » Wed Dec 04, 2013 9:48 am

I would like to hear your views on this.

Last night I was at my parents house. My brother's son (25 years old) lives there and his girlfriend (22yrs old) will stay over occasionally. I noted that they showered together in the same common toilet. I was shocked and asked my parents and they too viewed their unhappiness on this matter to me. We are somewhat a traditional based Chinese family, thus personally I couldn't accept that. I ended up giving them a lecture of being not sparing a thought for the older generation existence in the family and of course my 13year old son was with me last night.

In my mind, I was thinking how would I react if my son has this thinking too. That is, it is okay to shower together with his girlfriend in the common toilet whereby the family members are just sitting outside!

not paiseh meh?

I guess even married couple with kids will also paiseh if there is anyone in the house.. most would do it discretely..

What is your brother's stand on this? I think that is the most crucial.

I'm curious to know what your nephew & his gf think after you've lectured them. Did it come as a surprise to both that their actions were offending to other family members at all?
