Postby kelvintay11 » Wed May 28, 2014 10:58 pm

My son told me that in the afternoon, he went to the student care and at that point of time was their outdoor activities But he was told to stay back in the studentcare due to he's been naughty. So there's 1 of the teacher will be looking After those Who been told to stay back. So this teacher asked them to took their reading books out to read. My son doesn't want to read because the book he already finish reading, So he disobey the teacher and says that he doesn't wanted to read. The teacher seems like giving a warning to him for not taking out the books to read and heagain says he doesn't want to read and wanted to do his homework. The teacher says If you doesn't want to read then will become like this... he took my son bag and overturn it.. All his books and everything drop on the floor. My son have to pick up 1 by 1 on his own. Although I know that my son is been naughty But I feel that this teacher action seems not right at All. Pls enlighten me do your think I should make a complaint to the school??

Inappropriate reaction. Why not talk to the teacher(?) on the pretence of working out a solution should your son disobey again n that let her know that emptying the bag will not work as a punishment.

And also explain to the teacher the reason why your son did not want to read - he had already read the book.

In general, I always prefer to approach the person directly if I have any issues, and try to discuss or settle the issue amicably. Only if that fails will I go higher. As Nebbermind says, that person, even if at fault, has a job to keep and perhaps a family to support. As an employee, I would have hated people to complain to my boss without trying to talk to me first.

u should counsel your son also...even though he had finished reading, he could pick up another book or magazine or papers to read.

talk to teacher face and face and explain that son'd finished reading and asked what's the centre's solution for kids who've run out of books to read and homework to do, i.e do they have a library, a newspaper/mag rack, internet access, sudoko, word search or crossword puzzle books to keep them at bay? It is most uncivilised of her to empty bag contents.
