Other than the Little India riot, which is a failing on SPF inspite of the low casuality, I dont think others could have been prevented.
Not only are our tax rates are low but our crime rates are far lower than most countries.
Every time I go on a holiday , it is a stark reminder of how safe Singapore is. It makes me very complacent. Just a couple of weeks ago when i had gone across the Causeway, a resident who I just stopped to ask for direction, chided me for wearing a gold chain, she warned me to cover it if it got late to return.
If anything, singapore is a little too safe .
