Should I call the police?

Postby Sun_2010 » Fri Nov 21, 2014 9:40 pm

My neighbours have moved out about a couple of months ago. The place was renovated and they said they would probably sell. A man comes over at night to stay. They have been a very nice people , a warm family. Always felt secure when they were around.

About an ago, I heard loud sound of 2-3 people talking as they opened the gate and door ,from where sat I cant see but can hear as my doors are usually open. It could be taken as crying/ laughter/loud talking, one person saying "go in go in" - rambunctious i thought. Then I heard the wooden door shut. Maybe they came back for a visit I thought, and were excited. Later I should say a hello I thought.

A few minutes later , I heard a loud scream. Almost in-human. Lasted enough for me to hesitate, push my chair from my desk and run out my door , should be about 8-10 sec. Then it stopped abruptly. I cant even say from where the sound was. Because it could have come from the stair case .

DH not in Singapore, I am very disturbed. I have been pacing around my living room but no more sounds. not even a peep. My other two neighbours are not in. So dint dare go and ring the door bell.

Any advise ?? :nailbite:

for security reason, I would advise that you call the police immediately.

perhaps suspect of rape?? violence??

it'll save someone's life by making the call and put yourself at ease.

I think it's good to keep police informed. For safety reasons. At least, the police will make regular rounds in the neighborhood.

Goodness. I hope everything is alright there. Maybe it's just some kids playing in the empty flat?

In any case, do keep your gate locked.

The police came in to take in my details and ask questions.

The person claims to be a friend of my neighbour. He refused to allow the police in to check. He said he had an argument with his gf, just domestic violence, no need for the police to enter as they did not have warrant. Instead charged the police was rude. they were not I can vouch for that.
The police spoke to the owner who confirmed it. They took the details of both the guy and girl . The girl apparently looked ok , the police said bt did not talk.

He probably knows I am the one who complained. :scared:

The guy and the girl just left. Saw the girl walking very slowly .

I cant believe I waited so long before reacting. My instinct screamed , yet I hesitated :stupid:

Thanks for the advise and concern folks.
