Where to buy dresses for P5 girl?

Postby nms1 » Fri Feb 06, 2015 9:05 am

Does anyone have good ideas for places to buy clothes for upper primary girls? I am really struggling finding things for my daughter. She is too big for most of the cute little girl dresses and can almost fit into the small adult sizes but not quite.

I desperately need something for CNY (not a cheongsam but preferably with a Chinese feel) as well as for a wedding next month.

All ideas welcome!

Can try H&M or Uniqlo or Temt or Cotton On - most of these will have some smaller size that can fit preteens / teens. If you prefer more formal dresses / blouse-skirt type, can try some boutique stores - I find a handful of them at Ang Mo Kio hub that can fit teens. Otherwise, Bugis Street can have some good buys too if you have time to hunt thru the stores.

I've tried before but the sizing is so hit & miss. I've ended up sending everything back. It's OK for me as I don't change size (much) so once I find a brand that fits it's great but it much harder for growing girls :-)

Temt is a new one for me so I will give that a try. Uniqlo and Cotton On are definitely too casual.

I just wish there was one shop I could go to and buy everything.....I think there is a gap in the market here. Now if only I were the entrepreneurial type ;-)

Gingersnaps at United sq, Raffles City has dresses for girls right up to teenage years. Also try Tweenage (also at United Sq.)

Just to add:

Top Shop has some dressy and funky outfits for teens as well.

Forever 21 - but quality is rather poor. I bought my CNY clothes from F21.

You can try Oasis inside Robinsons too. It's a high-street label from London. Cutting is very small.

Used to buy this brand starting with 'P' but offhand can't remember it.

I like the look of Tweenage from their website.
