People like that has deprived another person who genuinely stays within 1km a place of the school! For all you know... that poor kid has to travel far to and fro to school daily because of what this fellow did!

When I first heard of the case, the first thing that came to my mind was 'the love of a parent'.

I too feel that the punishment is too harsh. I can't imagine how the child would feel if she knew that her father went to jail because he wanted the best for her.

A fine is more appropriate, although I know that this may encourage other parents to do likewise.

I like to think that most of the parents won't resort to this even if they really really want their kids to be in 'prestigious schools'.

What an adult does has nothing to do with his child. I hope the authorities will leave the child alone. The father has paid his dues.

What happens to the daughter?
At the end of the day, how is this episode going to impact her? She may be feeling guilty for the rest of her life that her day is in jail for 2 weeks because she is in that school!

And what is it about good schools? I feel it is more important to have a good family environment that fosters character development and inculcation of good values.

The other important influence is a good teacher! Can we only find good teachers in good schools?

There are many ways to do it... You can do it the proper way... Rent it or buy it! We really bought a place near the school we want to apply and was balloted out! Now my kid has to travel SOOOOO FAR every morning to school instead of walking and have her lunch at 2 plus 3pm daily! This guy does not get my sympathy at all! If the punishment is not harsh enough, we shall see more of such cases yearly!

I entirely agreed with you. This father deserve it. Should jail him more than 2 weeks. I believe there are many others who are not being caught. I hope they catch some more.

His daughter is still in the school. They should ask her to leave the school. Two weeks jail only for a good school.
