We parents have to take care of our own bodies. We have to learn to recognise the stress building up inside because when we are stressed we tend to pass it on to our spouses and children. I know I am stressed when I am easily irritated and get snappy. I used to think it is just tiredness, but over the years I recognise that it is more than that. When I am stressed, I avoid making decisions that will have a long-term impact. Like when my daughter comes up and says "Mum can I join this group?". A "yes" or "no" answer will have long-term consequences. That's not being fair to the children. So I'll tell her to ask her father or tell her we'll discuss it later over dinner.

It is a stress. It is a commitment. It is happiness. It is fortune.

Parenting can be very stressful. Whether you’re a stay at home parent or a working parent, a single parent or a married parent, mother or father, parent of one child or several children — remaining cool, calm and full of energy can help get you through the day.

I'm reading all these posts on stress and realised how blessed I am to receive so much help from my parents!
Please keep your chin up everyone, tomorrow is a better day!

Many ways to relieve stress. I ought to write an article to share experience. Try to find a sport or walk in nature or some nice tea places to chill. Let me know if you agree?

Katherine22, can learn from internet. My friend and I used to sew bags to raise funds for local children's homes. Good luck and have fun.
