NUS & NTU in global scene

Post by sushi88 » Tue Sep 15, 2015 4:35 pm

Wow, our universities rankings risen so FAST!!!

Big jump partly due to change in evaluation of research citation...
I wonder the implications for the uni-bound kids in Singapore, value of their degree goes up or more competitive to get into the uni if more regional countries prefer to come to SG now.

This small red dot is really moving very fast.

Hi Im from NTU, and I think foreign student plays little in part of the rise in rankings. I believe the rise is due to mainly the researches our profs are doing! Of course, profs can be from SG and other countries as well! Anyway, I am new to the forum.

Some people never even study in local U can say that local U alot of foreign students. Not sure where they get such info from. Local U only has 18% foreign students. The bulk are also in courses that are unpopular to Singaporeans such as Engin. Popular courses such as med/dent, law, biz/acc almost no foreigners at all. About 1% only.
