looks like PM will have to find a substitute...HSK won't be able to take the stress in the near future.

He is my favourite minister. Surely the Finance Minister job is much more stressful than the Education Minister job. :-(

Pray for his speedy recovery!

Why is this under Happenings and not Recess Time.

Also title "News News" is not so appropriate. Shouldn't it be "HSK has a stroke"???

Anyway I also hope his condition is not serious n can recover quickly.

i was wondering why this thread was created under 'happenings' instead of recess...which is normally the case for hot news.

hope it was a minor stroke for HSK...with 3 doctors in the cabinet and rushing over to TTSH, he will get medical attention. understand the first 24 hours after a stroke is very critical to see the doctor.

Minister Heng Swee Keat suffers stroke during Cabinet meeting
(http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/heng-swee-keat-suffers/2779576.html)

I believe that the lives of many of us and our children were touched in some way by the bold moves of the former education minister Mr Heng Swee Keat. He took a long-term view of education reform and endeavored to shift our education system from an elitist and exam-focused one to something that is more holistic and mindful of the many paths of success.

Some may not agree with me on how the implementation of his policies went but we can at least all agree on one thing. He has had the interests of all students at heart when he was education minister and for that I salute his hard work and wish him a speedy recovery!

Mods, please merge this thread with the one under 'happenings' on Mr Heng.

Thank goodness there were 3 doctors in the cabinet who attended to Mr Heng.
