I worn these flats only once. Aired them before I put them back into the shoe box.

What are the black spots?

First time seeing something like this on shoes.

I googled images of mould on shoes, most images show whitish spots, not black spots.

I used a disposable cloth to wipe, nothing on the surface of the cloth.

Think unlikely is mould.

Can it be wiped away since u tried? If cannot, i think it looks like discolouration.

Could it be some sort of degeneration of the material? Probably the material before or after make into shoes been kept for too long. We just experienced the leather flaking(badly) when went to buy a dance shoes recently..many pairs are affected and I told the seller that these shoes probably been kept for too long but he kept telling me these are new stocks. On the shoes, it is the inner part which giving out problem and I saw on the label that only top is leather.

Tried Daiso Magic sponge yet?

I think it's just discolouration of what appears to be COMPOSITE leather. Dont think Jwest, Pazzion, C&K, Pedro will use 100% genuine leather. You get pigskin for the exterior sometimes.

Composite leather is made using leather scrap and PU. It undergoes an industrial process using leftover leather shavings and dust as binder and PU as the filler.

Ask Mister Mint for metallic polish or if you don't mind a bit of colour discrepancy, try getting a leather colourant from Spotlight or maybe Homefix to diy?? Haha.

Nowadays there are many leather bag wash shops in malls that clean branded bags. But do check if they clean such a miniscule area.

Buy silicon desicants to insert into shoes. Lots of hippos too.

some metallic paint contains real metal powder. perhaps the metallic pigment oxidised and changed colour

On second view, I think probably the outer layer (coating) of this gold color material is breaking therefore exposing the inner layer material. It happened after you started wearing it .. when it started to stretch.

Thank you very much for the inputs.

I guess the spots are not very visible , so maybe I will keep the shoes.
