these 2 fellas can't wait for singapore to collapse? if investors see PM having a fight with his siblings, what will they do? singapore was built from scratch by their father to what she is today. i am a peasant, born and bred in singapore. i have no money to migrate nor have any plans to do so. if those 2 are unhappy, they can migrate since they have plenty of money.

Exactly. Wonder what were LWL and LHY thinking when they published that letter on FB? Airing one's dirty linen in public is definitely not a wise thing to do. Kind of pity LHL, having to deal with his siblings' low EQ.... :siam:

I am utterly disgusted with the two siblings, esp LWL's latest FB post that to me is childish, whining, and super immature.

Their actions 本来是对的都变成错了.

Alas a measured unbiased article on a highly publicized case that was devoured by many netizens from other sites in a gossipy ugly manner.

Perhaps LHY and LWL should anticipate that when they decided to throw the family's "dirty linen" to the public. It's a no-win situation for the Lee family and it only gave the critics a field day to gossip and use that to their advantage. Remember, the world is watching us.

Like what Calvin Cheng in the article said, everyone should take a step back and calm down. I believe it's only through having a clear mind and calm spirit that issues can be resolved in a dignified manner. No matter who is right or wrong, shaming your own brother on social media isn't going to help. There are a lot of netizens out there who are just going to feed on the negative feelings generated and create a big fireball for the world to see, from what is going round on other portals and facebook comments. That is the power and danger of the Internet.

That depends.

If it's of a personal nature. e.g. XXX doesn't change his underwear for a week, those stuff please stay at home.

However, if the 2 siblings insinuations and allegations on a public figure abuse / misuse of power and authority are true, it is their duty and responsibility as a Singapore citizen to highlight and bring it out to the open as the public needs to know. If PM thinks those allegations are baseless, he has the right to defend himself.

But whole thing still revolved round their family asset, 38 Oxley Road, albeit couched in different forms. How will other countries look at us now?

Maybe Kor Kor used the 长兄为父 tone which little bro & sis thought he was using his political power to threaten them? Got so serious or not? Luckily they are not born in North Korea and their big bro not Fatty Kim! :torchme:

"Got so serious or not?"
That's the problem. We don't know. Our media is well known for not being able to do a good investigative job, especially with matters pertaining to the gov / ruling party.

The house is merely the minor story. The insinuations and allegations of abuse are the jaw dropping moments. If a member (let alone 2!) of the most high profile family makes that accusation, it's fair that we sit up and listen. The Ang Mo says "there's no smoke without fire."

P/S: When's the last time we are ever bothered about how the other countries view us?
Liberty / democracy? We do it our way.
Human rights / capital punishment? We do it our way.
Matters pertaining to the PM? S*** better worry about how other people see us.

I think someone with more ink than me had managed to put it across in a better way.
But the accusations are not regarding the house – the house is but context surrounding what Dr Lee and Mr Lee claim to be the “misuse of [PM Lee’s] position and influence over the Singapore government and its agencies to drive his personal agenda.”

It should be interesting to see how this story develops in the coming weeks.
