My husband has his booster yesterday (Pfizer). He had Moderna for this first 2 jabs. Side effects are minimal after the booster - just a sore arm, and not very bad.

Mind sharing why he chose Pfizer for booster?

I also took Moderna for first 2 doses. Am wavering between taking M again for 3rd dose (supposedly stronger protection?), or Pfizer for 3rd dose (different brand to cover all bases?)

I read this with envy:
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/cna-ins ... ts-2277431

Germany is at 66% vaccination; Singapore is at 84% vaccination. Just compare.

Quotes in the article from Prof Ooi:
An endemic COVID-19 approach would mean a country stops counting the number of confirmed positive cases, or "PCR positivity", said Professor Ooi Eng Eong, an infectious disease expert at Duke-NUS Medical School.

Going forward, Singapore may need to categorise cases as “flu-like COVID”, “COVID with warning signs” and “severe COVID”, for example, said Ooi. “I think that might actually help the public to accept that, ‘okay, I have flu-like COVID, it’s no big deal’.”

Singapore’s current approach is a legacy of the “zero COVID” days when it was trying to stamp out the virus altogether, said Ooi. But the reality is that the virus is here to stay. Vaccines are “not designed to prevent us from testing PCR-positive”, he said. “They are there to prevent ourselves from getting severe COVID. I think that conceptually, people get it, but to… now say, ‘I’m going to let go because this is not feasible’, that’s a hard thing to do,” he explained. “It’s like if a certain formula has led you to success, then you keep wanting to repeat that formula... And I suspect we’re caught in that kind of cycle right now."

Now the categorisation is better isn't it..we have more than 98% under mild/no symptoms..

As Covid 19 is still classified as "Pandemic" in WHO, each country should report their number of cases and deaths to WHO for statistics purpose.

The report of cases and deaths number is also for other countries to decide whether to impose any travel alarm to their people advising them whether to go Singapore or not.

Recently, the number of Covid 19 cases in the United Kingdom and Holland are rising and travellers over the world may assess the risks before deciding to travel there or not and therefore the report of cases and deaths number is still necessary.

If my understanding is correct that ART+ no PCR no count means the number is not accurate isn't it..so why need to provide..dont give fig for sake of giving mah..when give fig that is to help ppl analyse right..else it defeat the purpose.

For goodness sake, he can call it whatever name he wants but now our biggest concern is the hospitals being overwhelmed. Did the prof address how to bring down the R?

If one day we hit 100k cases a day, that “1%” will be 1000 of them warded in hospitals every day. Even at 5,000 new cases, it’s 50 new hospitalization cases daily.

Please lah. We already have more than 10k a day. It's just that they are not PCR tested. The "1%" is inflated.

We have about 8% unvaccinated above-12s remaining (of whom fewer than 90,000 are seniors). The virus will burn itself through the unvaccinated population long before we hit 100k a day.
