We are still not out of the tunnel. When will this global crisis be over?
It won't be so fast. Many other countries in the world are only just seeing their first cases, and if they can't gain good control of the situation fast, the no. of cases will increase quickly initially. And the higher it goes before they gain control, the longer it will take. The best hope is that the warmer weather of summer will help kill off the virus; if not, it could be a while before herd immunity is increased (which means a lot of people must catch it first, then become immune). If a vaccine can be developed and produced in quantity soon, that would help too.

At least most people who get it don't seem to get very ill, so it's mainly the case of trying to limit the spread to the most vulnerable people until a vaccine can be found.

There is no approved vaccine for SARS and MERS (only vaccines approved for human trials but none have been reproduced in any large quantity). Similarly, I don’t foresee a vaccine approved for Covid-19 until the crisis is over.

you asked this same question, before ?

Since this is global pandemic, not just to Singapore only, this crisis will last for many more several months, or even years, if people dont stop eating bats, until medical Science solution is found

For as long as

1) people world-wide globally, still continue to eat bats or wild-life food that carry disease and spread disease, which
you and I have no control over what people in the world choose to eat. At the very most, we can educate them that
"PLEASE Do NOT eat these bats or stuff, as it is risky since they carry disease", but problem is : will people listen to us ?

2) no medical solution seem to be in sight,

this virus will remain, affect our day-to-day live,

although many of us simply can't wait for this horrible nightmare to be over

No country is spared, from this monster.
Once some crazy super-spreader happen to sit in some huge, large crowd gathering, the virus spread quickly. We had seen how that Korean woman, from just one person alone, she can spread to more than > 400 people

How much we long for, how much we missed those past carefree days,
where we can go out to anywhere we desire,

without pondering for once whether people walking on the street, or passengers taking public bus, or inside MRT transport : whether are u going to contaminate me, or not ?

Am concern with the impact on us.
Now we try to stay at home most of the time, we become suspicious whenever one coughs or sneezes, we face temp checks almost everywhere etc
Businesses are not doing well with staff on pay cut or no pay leave. Despite drop in income for many, the prices of food increase. It is a chain reaction; one event leading to another ...

Some industries are more badly affected. Those that have to service housing mortgages and car loans also cannot afford to lose their jobs. But I am still optimistic that things will be better by year end...

I think n feel By yr end should be over
But Gona be around till whole world weather gets warmer, hopefully !
Now even US exp more cases , n one death case . I hope the renowned medical scientists world wide can successfully find some medicine soon , I thought US n developed Eu regions who have developed labs n advanced tech should be working hard n fast to find a medicine . Tamiflu is used for Sars , influenza right , but is not working on covid 19?

Would closure of school apply to student care?
Guess those without any caregiver at home will put the children in student care then. In the end, instead of getting infected in school, the kids get infected in student care. :rotflmao:
I don't find this funny maybe because I am those who may have no choice if school close and only student care is our caregiver now. Or apply for no pay leave which may or may not be approved by employer
I laughed cos I find it ironical that people are calling for the closure of schools which will result in precious parents putting their children in student care centres. If sending the children to school is not an option, what make you think that sending them to a student care centre is a better choice? FYI schools are well equipped and have better facilities to cater to the children's needs. May I suggest that you visit a student care centre and see for yourself. If a child becomes sick in the centre, there's no way of quarantining him/her from the rest. In fact, if the teacher is not meticulous enough and if your child does not run a fever, nobody will know that he/she is unwell. Believe me, cos I have worked in a student care centre before :censored: :censored: If you want more information, feel free to pm me.

If you don't have a caregiver at home, may I suggest you put your child in your neighbour's care. I am sure that this is an better option though may be a last resort.

Tutor mum,

Is nothing to be funny, or laugh at, in this global crisis.

You should NOT jeer or mock at parents without any caregiver at home, hence these parents no choice, but to put their children into student care

BECAUSE

If YOU are in their shoes, WITHOUT an EXTRA pair of hands at home to help out, without grandparents nor any in-law nor any maid nor helper to help out, I am sure you won't be mocking, making fun of this group of parents !

If there is a super spreader inside primary school or secondary school class or JC, the whole class will go LOA 14 days, miss 14 days of school lesson

If there is a super spreader inside the child care centre or the student care centre, same thing happen : 14 days LOA, miss 14 days lesson

If there is any parent with a child sitting for National exam 2020 this year, be it psle or O level or A level

Nobody will want to be on LOA, miss 14 days of lesson

BECAUSE

Learning from a school's class Teacher first hand info,

Is very different

From staying at home and do self e learning
