Hi everyone,

Could you advise on the average rates for 1-to-1 piano / keyboard beginner lessons?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have just engaged a teacher for beginner class.

Travel to my home.

4 times a week
one to one

Hi parents,
The fee for 1-1 piano class varies and this depends on the teacher's qualification as well as experience.
Generally for a beginner class 45min/lesson. 1 month would cost between $90-$160.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Charmaine_chong and SnowieBob for your responses!

How about 1-to-1 lessons in a music school? Would they be cheaper compared to home lessons?

Hi,

You may check with YAMAHA.

Usually parents will send kids to YAMAHA.

Heard that kids 3yo may not be really benefited from the class.

Anyway, you may try out.

Hope it helps.

If I'm not wrong now, Yamaha beginner 1-1(no prior knowledge bout piano) needs 6/7 year old. 45mins/lesson beginner is $140 plus GST.
Cristofori is about $250-270 a term(3months) for 30mins/lesson. As for the rest I'm not so sure, maybe you can check the web :)

My DD's teacher charges S$180 for beginner. A little on the high side, but I hope I will be able to see marked improvement in her :xedfingers:

Hi,
How old is your he? Maybe it's just 2 lessons that's why he has nothing much to practice. He should be able to read some basic notes and also recognize some notes on the piano keys now.
It depends on how much he practices to see his improvement, if he does what the teacher expects(if there is homework), the pace would be rather fast and I guess 3-6 months might be a good gauge to see what he understands.
