Postby acforfamily » Mon May 09, 2011 6:14 pm

Hi can anyone advise?
Is it advisable for the child to take grade 6 piano practical exam without going through grades 4 or 5?
Thanks

If you could upload a video on the kid's playing, you may be able to get more accurate feedbacks.

Hi acforfamily, I remembered my friend's DD music teacher advised her to go for grades 1, 3 & 5 and especially not to skip grade 5. Did you check in with his teacher for advice?

Depends on how well the foundation is. Personally, I recommend skipping 4 but not 5 if the child is ready to do so.

If that's the teacher's suggestion then take it. I assume you trust the teacher that's why your child is with him/her.
