Honestly,I cant bear such a teacher.too many holiday, like twice a year is ok for me.When I was doing my Diploma,4 holidays a year.Dec,Feb and March are 3 lessons per month but 4 lessons payable.Diploma charge is 100dollars for 1 hr lesson.Somemore, the teacher is quite talkative.I am v stressed in the lesson.I believe chemistry between teacher and students are v important.

Dear all,

I will be conducting more teaching experiments and sourcing for test subjects from this forum. As usual, I will providing discounted rates of just $50 per lesson if you are willing to participate in them. Please check my available slots at my website here http://charleswupianostudio.com/page12.html. If you want a slot not listed, please do ask me about it. PM me or Whatsapp me if you want to participate. More info below.

Experiment 1 - 9 Months ARSM Course

FAQ

What is ARSM and what does it require?

It's an entry level performance Diploma offered by ABRSM for students who have completed a Grade 8 by ABRSM, Trinity, or LCM. You will be required to perform a 30 minutes program chosen from the DipABRSM repertoire list. There is an allowance of 10 minutes free choice. There is no other requirements; no scales, sight-reading, and aural. Playing standard expected is similar to Grade 8 ABRSM.

What is the purpose of this experiment?

I am very much interested to analyse common technical flaws exhibited by typical Grade 8 holders and how to work out solutions that will allow them to perform well beyond Grade 8 level. So the aim would be to get a Distinction for ARSM at the end of this experiment. I had one student already getting Distinction for ARSM, I want to see if the process can even be more streamlined within shorter time frame. Please bear in mind since this is a pure performance Diploma, the lessons will only comprise of technical works and repertoire. So if you wish to prepare additional components required for say a DipABRSM exam, you will have to top up the lesson duration.

Who am I looking for?

As long you or your children possess a Grade 8 from any of the exam boards and willing to commit an average of 45 minutes to 1 hour a day, feel free to try.

Experiment 2 - 3 year Adult Grade 8 ABRSM Grade 8 Crash Course

FAQ

What is the purpose of this experiment?

As some of you are aware, I am one of the rare ones who actually started learning piano as an adult at the age of 17 years old. It was not easy for me as many teachers are simply not trained to teach adults and also they don't take adults seriously. What I am curious is to see what can a motivated and serious adult beginner achieve under the guidance of
properly trained teachers. So the goal is to go from complete beginner to Grade 8 Distinction ABRSM or even further in the span of 3 years.

Who am I looking for?

For the purpose of this experiment, I will only accept students who are 16 years or older, especially those who are considering a mid-career switch.

Hi parents! There's 3 young piano teachers I know:

1) Charlotte
Charlotte started teaching piano since 1999. Her passion towards classical music led her to Australia to further studies in music, majoring in classical piano performance, and second study in accompaniment. Upon graduation, she had a privilege to teach in a few state schools. In Brisbane, she taught piano and singing to young children.

Her email is charosy@gmail.com

2) Lena
Lena has been teaching for the last 17 years in various classical music schools and also privately. She holds an Associate Diploma in Recital in Piano from the Trinity College London, and also full certificates from ABRSM. As a classical pianist, Lena has also trained under renowned pianists like Adam Gyorgy, Steven Spooner and ABRSM examiner Robert Langston in techniques and performances. She is also trained in Jazz piano and pursues the flute as an additional instrument.

Her email is nekoxnezumi@gmail.com

3) Jonathan
He has been teaching for at least 5 years in both private and school sectors. Mr Jonathan has been providing students with distinction in ABRSM examinations and creativity through their music journey. He is also proficient in teaching pop music.

You can also check out the other singapore piano teachers at https://beehivee.com/listing-category/s ... -teachers/

Hopefully it helps!

Good day to everyone.

I am a Female Piano Teacher in my late 30s, with an experience of 17 years. I hold a DipABRSM and LRSM in Piano Performance. I stay in the West Area.

I teach from Beginner to Diploma level and have pretty good rapport with my students and parents. :grphug:

I allow my students to have the freedom to choose the pieces they want to learn for their exams and for leisure - even though at times beyond their means, which is alright. :salute:

My students are able to score high or full marks in their pieces and several with a Distinction in the higher grades too. Grades 6-8.

Do Private Message me if you are interested in lessons, I will share my webpage then if you are a real parent.

With permission from my students, here are some Documentation of their practices - not the finalized versions. I don't take complete videos too often too. I hope you Enjoy and Thank you for your time. :callme:
