My daughter has taken an interest in badminton recently. Been playing with her father in open areas below our flat but both are just "casual" players ....just for fun, without any idea of proper strokes or rules. After PSLE this year, we thought of getting proper coaching for her - just to expose her more to the game and see how she goes from there. Any recommendations on where to go? We are at the west.

Heyya westmom,

I used to play badminton with my daddie in many different courts
with community centres ( PA ). Recently, when we swam at Woodlands
pool we noticed classes for teenagers. I helped you shortlist nearest
CC within west and found this, but adult class..

Badminton for kids seems to be limited to the east side, but mebbe
if you can get in touch with the trainer, she may consider a group
for westies especially if you can form your own group for her classes,
or holiday programmes.

If the class has closed registration, you can still place your name as
future interested participant and when they open new classes they
will inform you.

Dunno if this helps.

Heyya Jennifer,

Thanks for sharing.
Could it be that the
portal was not updated
or did i miss out on the
centres you have mentioned
during my recce..

Aniwaes, how old is your son?
And what is actually the requirement
age to register for badminton for kids?
The fee, same as publicised on the web?

So sorry, I made a mistake stating Clementi CC. It is Clementi Sports Complex, not under PA.

Thanks for the heads up, jennifer..
So, it should be under Sports Council then.

Hope you can secure a class for them soon,
westmom!

Hi westmom,

You can try Haden Development Centre. They have qualified ex-national badminton players to conduct training for kids especially in the west. I only know their contact by email: hdc@singapore.com

Hope this helps.

Hi,
Riding on this thread, does anyone have any recommendation for coaches in the north / central area?
My kid is currently under the SBA coaching but is not really benefiting because there are so many kids in the session. Looking for a coach that will teach 2 kids at a reasonable price.
