Hm...would it be better to sign up for outside wushu classes or the in-school wushu CCA?

depending on how good the coaches for the wushu. But you might want to take note, if you join outside wushu, your kid might not get a chance to be selected for wushu competition as the school has their own wushu team.

Competitions would be something very big...seems like in school still better sia. Thanks! :)

from age 5 onwards you may let your kids have some exposure first. Eg. look at other student during training. If he or she doesnt resist from trying, you may let them try but don't put too much hope in it. Initially there might be crying... from the sketching and the strict instructor. But the best age to start is actually around 7. Can absorb the most but yet not too old to start.

Wushu isn't really for self defence, until you reach the much higher levels. Initially its more about flexibility and strength. At least thats what it seems like to me watching my son practice these last 5 years :)

Hi any schs to recommend for young kids aged 6? My boy is currently learning at Shaolin Club. But I thought of switching tho the class is a small grp but not much area to progress. Fun for young kids tho.
I'm staying in serangoon area btw.
