Enrolled my DS2 in the ActiveSG Basketball Academy. 3x week for 3 months at only $130. Student to coach ratio about 30:2, but session is fast-paced with drills e.g dribbling, shooting, defense, etc. Within 4 lessons, technically challenging techniques E.g. Lay-up were taught.

Flip side is, due to the bigger group of students, noticeable number of kids will be fooling around, and that can really distract the others. Overall, DS2 is keen to learn and he is partnered with a good buddy, he generally enjoy the training.

DS1 and DS2 still attend the basketball camps held by SGBasketball and Scholar Basketball Academy during the school holidays. Comparatively, such sessions are smaller ratio and more attention to kids. The coaches are also existing Singapore Slingers members and that sort of give some motivation to the kids. But the sessions dun come cheap.

DS#1 and 2 are with Scholar Basketball Academy for almost a year now and participated in their Basketball League with external teams. Good exposure. Last month I came upon ShotZone (Eunos) which has some innovative equipment to train inspiring basketballers. They also have basketball academy which has regular group classes. They also have their own basketball league. I enrolled my kids for a short stint personal coaching by one of the American coach. Prices are reasonable if you purchase a package, and considering the coach's credentials.

Yes, for a few personal coaching sessions so far. American coach who used to play for a semi professional basketball club in Singapore. I felt my kids' interests have definitely increased. Small mistakes corrected which can really improve the overall ability. Coaches are hit and missed though. There's one or two coaches that are quite professional, never left the trainee alone, always a hawk watching over them, motivating them and pushing them. Like our coach. Some unfortunately are laid-back and would walk away socialising with players and parents while their classes were ongoing. I guess if u are looking for personal coach, do come down to shotzone and see who's coaching. And make the choice.

P/s. Can't disclose our coach's name bcoz he's heavily booked over weekend, and it's already very difficult to book his sessions nowadays.

Sport4kids have been teaching my 7 year old son AJ basketball for about 6 months now. The coaches picked up on AJ's need for gentle encouragement immediately and tailored his lessons to boost AJ's self-confidence and basketball ability.
