Yoga: Breathing technique to release emotional tension

Picture this. You are faced with a situation or an argument, hitting boiling point, on the verge of a verbal attack… your rationale mind tells you to calm down, hold your tongue, stay calm. What if your emotions over rule your rationale behaviour? You’d snap back or react negatively. Whatever had happened, never allow this emotion to bottle up.
Here’s a tip for releasing emotional tension through Yoga breathing - the "ROARING LION" pose.

Best practiced facing the healing rays of sunrise. There are a few variation depending on your preference. Slowly inhale through the nose, and exhale through the mouth, extend tongue out as far as possible towards the chin, concurrently produce a clear, steady ‘aaa’ sound from the throat keeping the mouth wide open. At the end of exhalation, close the mouth and breathe in. It can be a fun exercise for Kids and trigger some laughter too!

Tension is removed from the chest and diaphragm.
Removes tension around the face – eyes, nose, ears, mouth and throat.
Useful for people who stutter or nervous and introverted. It helps to boost confidence.
Helps develop a strong and beautiful voice.

Happy trying. Any questions feel free to share.
