Hi can anyone advise me what i should do???

I caught my son went into porn site yesterday. He admitted. I don't know where he pick it up from. I am really very stress by this. Will this eventually becomes an addiction.

At this age, my son and my daughter who is 7 yrs old still sleep together with me during the weekends. How can I communicate this through to my son.

Well this is very scary to all parents esp. mummies :!:  my first encounter was when I google from home pc while checking on history browcing to my shock too I discover such history seach like "sex" , porn comic etc ...at the computer detected virus from those unknown website.

My boy admitted and all these down to kids at school friends talk abt it and school   "e learning day" at home with working parents no way we would know when our boys become so "curious" !

My advice is 1st thing to do install parental control and then slowly talk to him (daddy can do the on off advising) not too lorso it takes time
to brain wash them but do share (make up) stories how harmful /bad this can be ... better to hear / learn from parents than to hear stories from his friends more problems in Secondary years to come

I assume you are the mother of the child, before you go ahead with any action, check with your husband when was his first encounter on porn and when did he first started searching for it. You will be surprise on how early an age a person would cross with porn. Probably we have lived so long that we have forgotten our childhood.

I think the most important thing is to have the thrill removed from your child, and I don't mean punishment.

As far as I know, curiosity is a result of ignorance and knowledge is the best way to tackle ignorance.

Give your child a round of sex education so that he has more understanding. If you portray sex as dirty or with disgust, it will lead the child to wanting to find out more. It might be difficult to go through it especially when we are Asians. Being open to your kids on the topic will give clarity on what he should be expecting.

You can't really stop pornography from infiltrating into your family, you can however make it unattractive.

with regards to parent control which is the best window to use? Pls advise what is the appropriate setting for children above 11 but below 16. Do you have to block the website one by one, else it may block website link to their research work, causing a lot of unhappiness.

Hi MdmKS,

I think there are many parental controls discussed in KSP forums. But sometimes I do agreed with one of the forummer said that using Parental Control is quite useless, if you didn't check on them.
Like you said, you might over-block the websites.
Indirectly you are asking your kids to find out the answer from outside.

I think it will be more useful if you track and monitor what websites they are visiting. My friend is doing such software. If you are interested, you can pm me.

You can teach and teach sex edu to a child, but whether or not they listen, it's really up to them, so it alone is definitely not enough.

I would think that it will be good to know the rationale why ur child visits the site. Most likely is curiousity.
Most importantly now is to talk to ur child, avoiding the topic is not a solution. He will only go else where to find answers, worst case is to try it out. I understand that its difficult to talk abt sexuality ed at home but it would be good for the child to get answers from us.
I have 2 gals, 7 and 3. We talk freely abt the topic to my elder. Self love and must cherish herself, not others to cherish her.
