is it ok for a boy and girl share room if the boy is close to 6yo, girl is 8yo, and until when must separate?

It all depends on you and your child. My uncle has two children, both in their teens now, a boy and a girl. He separated them when the boy turned 11 (girl turned 10) as he said that was the "turning point" of their lives, when they begin to get interested in ... you know what.

I think if I need to share a bedroom with a brother, I'll feel uncomfortable around upper primary age.
So would like "to be separated" at the age of 11 or 12.

It's advisable to let them sleep in own rooms when the boy gets bigger like P5 or P6...esp when they start to be curious in the birds and the bees.
Next year when son is 11, I'll get him to sleep in own room.

My DD & DS are also sharing a room now. They are going 8 & 6yrs old respectively.

Guess I will play by ear. My guess is, when DD hits about 10 or 11, she will want her own space. As it is now, she will sometimes chase DS out of their room for go hide in my room when she wants some alone time.

i was asking my 8yo girl if she wants to have her own room or share room with her 10yo and 6yo brothers, she says she doesn't want to have her own room. she wants to share room with her brothers. guess she's one who's scared of being alone in a room.
