How to tell if a child is gifted?

I think if a child is gifted their teachers will definitely highlight, we can't say for ourselves, of course we will think our own kids are gifted.

Yes, have had some students that are a year younger, not exactly sure how, very rare.

I agree with you on this. Schools that have programs for gifted students are often able to identify them by using traditional screening methods, like group IQ tests, review of achievement test scores and past grades, observation, and getting input from teachers and parents. So, when it comes to discovering if your own kid is gifted, one option is to wait and see whether teachers or others at your child's school recommend testing for a gifted education program. :)

You can try to bring your child to GATE- Gifted and Talented Education. They have tests to help you assess and apparently they have enrichment classes to help such kids.

I took my first kid to a test before. (not with GATE)
can't recalled which test he took, WISC or SB-5

The conclusion was, my kid's score was not bad but not good enough for the psychologist to write a report to convince MOE to allow early entry into Pri 1.
