Toys / Games for 7 year old boy

Hi

My boy just started Primary 1 this year. I understand from parents that P1 is quite honeymoon period, so I would like to engage his with activities from the start of the year.

I also thought of drawing up a timetable for him. Recently we played basketball, memory game (closing all cards and opening 2 same cards
to win), jigsaw puzzle. He is enjoying very much.
Any parents have any games that will be good for 7 years old? We bought Scrabble and Monopoly and will start playing soon. Is there some games that is good for Maths as I think this is his weakest subject in K2.

Thanks.

chess? mastermind? pictionary? boggle? crossword puzzle? sudoku? word search?

Snakes & Ladders? But that one's a bit too elementary for P1. Good for N2-K2 though. Means u must mentally add instead of moving the pawn box by box. at 59, if threw dice with 6, u zoom to 65 in a flash. Drawback: Only addition.

some math (fractions & percentages/4 operations/multiplication) SNAP cards...quite fun but might be boring after a few rounds (at least to me)...Good for travelling, cos can play on the plane.

jigsaw is quite fun also...can play those with 150 pieces or more...

Basketball is fun indeed:) Can make the kid grow taller. Swimming, cycling are life long/essential skills that should be picked up young too.

Cheers!

hi
you can try card games
We play "Zeus on the Loose" and Slamwich and monopoly
As boys have high level of energy, so still lots of playground.
Also good is lego for his imagination and fine motor skills.
There are lego classes as well from various places.
And my boy take drums classes for his therapy to reduce frustration and vent energy.
