My son in p5 now. will the school recommend us to take foundation subject if he didn't do well?

You shouldn't wait for the school to do that. You need to seek for professional help and give your child the chance she/he deserves.

If you love your child, do whatever it takes so she/he can get a shot of a better life when she/he grows up.

You may approach his former teacher to seek for advice. The FT should be able to help your child.
