When one of our kids was in primary school, she loved art. We encouraged the hobby from the time she wasn't very good, till the time she was quite good. She didn't like to study as hard as her other siblings. Then, she decided that she likes to analyze things. We encouraged that too, by brainstorming with her about current affairs. She is now studying law at a local university. We won't know what she is interested or good in next, but we'll continue to be supportive.

I'm sometimes conscious about that also. Aside from being supportive what they like, I'm not sure if I would indeed lead them to a wrong way.
