KiasuParents Charity Drive

All kids need sunshine, fresh air, friends, and a good caring heart for others. And for the matter, so do parents. Find out where to go when you are ready to stop and smell the roses.

KiasuParents Charity Drive

Postby buds » Thu Jun 23, 2011 12:07 am

Chief, will you be keen to embark on a KiasuParents Charity Drive?
We can name it KiasuHearts.. the name you once thought about
when you wanted to ride on a volunteer programme with me..

Am thinking that perhaps we can start a pre-loved school textbooks
drive to donate to a charity of your choice/needy families...

Or a pre-loved books/items sale that we can put up online to generate
some moolah for needy causes or organisations..

Something we can do to give back to society.

Your thoughts...? :please:

Thank you. I'm ecstatic to read your quick response, Champion! :hugs:
I had time to volunteer when i had only one and then two.. but with
three children gonna be a bit tough to manage time to commit to
one fixed project. Hence, was just thinking aloud on this project.

Chief was keen to join me then but i completed the volunteer
initiative liao so thought to ask him again and this time thot
mebbe he can use his own platform (KiasuParents.com) to
champion this..

I'm still refining my thoughts on this and will update this
thread once i'm clear of the direction of how it can go,
but nevertheless.. am hoping you guys/gals (the
community) can offer support & feedback as well.

Thanks Champion, for being the 1st to raise your hand. :celebrate:

Yes, thinking along the lines of books for starters so it'd be easier to
manage. Need to see if other pre-loved items can also garner in the
same value as books. For this instance any books apart from school
textbooks. Still playing with ideas.

Tks for chippin in yours, tigger88! :celebrate:

Thanks darl for your :rahrah:...
Thinking to do it online ala auction for the items contributed by members.
The final count translated into cash goes into the charity championed by
KiasuParents.com. Just a raw idea for now.. Members can decide not to
take the items too but instead throw in the cash plus the items they
bid for back to the organisation chosen. Again, just really raw ideas
for the meantime. Appreciate your feedback! :please:
