[2022 Pri 6 student]: This student who joined in Term 3 during Pri 5 wasn't failing HCL but was contemplating whether to drop it to focus on CL (AL3 for Pri 5 EOY). I explained that the "relationship" between CL & HCL for Pri and Sec lvl looks something like this:



Thus, for his case, I encouraged him to continue with HCL. The additional practices in compo (story plotting, esp. on how to ensure cohesiveness throughout and highlight the moral/theme) and compre (analyse passage content, critique on incidents/character) can be very useful. Even though he "remain stuck" at Pass for PSLE HCL, I think it's positive impact was shown in his PSLE CL result.

Some "yoyo" in terms of results (albeit ending on a positive note) from Pri 5 EOY's AL3 to Pri 6 SA1's AL5 to Prelim's AL3 and then PSLE AL1. Consistent effort + trust the process = rewards for labour.

[2022 Sec 3 student]: I previously aided this student's younger brother in his preparation leading up to PSLE. His parent contacted me last May (thanks for their trust) and both of them joined for lessons in June. His positive and proactive attitude played a massive part in the progress made (WA 1 Compo 18/60 vs. EOY Compo 42/60; WA2 Paper 2 32/80 vs. EOY Paper 2 64/80).

[2022 Sec 3 student]: This boy joined my PSLE workshops back in 2019 (the 2nd one I started for children of KSP members - how time flies!). His Mum contacted me last year as she was hoping to provide him some aid in his preparation for O-Level Chinese (he's taking HCL but has to clear the criteria to continue with HCL this year). I'm grateful for the trust and glad to be able to help in fulfilling his potential. Hopefully, this result will be a morale booster ahead of the bigger challenge that lies ahead this year end.

[2022 Sec 4 student]: This student joined the school holiday PSLE workshop back in 2018 before signing up for weekly class when he was in Year 2. Glad to have been able to guide him in his preparation for both rounds of national examinations.

[2023 Sec 3 CL student]: This student joined the class permanently in Dec after attending trial lesson last Oct. Glad he has made an encouraging start this year!





[2023 Sec 4 HCL student]: This student's confidence took a hit when she didn't fare well in one of her WAs in the 2nd semester last year (left pic). So far, her efforts are paying off (right pic).
