How did your child find the Chinese paper today ? I think the 2 choices for composition writing are not too difficult.

So far, the 3 papers do not seem too difficult. So my prediction is the Science paper tomorrow will be the "killer" paper.

Spoke to the Chinese teacher. The level of difficulty is "acceptable". So it's not considered a very difficult paper.

Come to think of it, the picture in the Chinese oral ( 2nd day paper) was quite difficult. It was a picture outside the zoo. There are some mascots. and some children playing with water guns. I can't remember the details. But most kids are stunned, don't know the correct term for "mascot" in Chinese.

Heard that there is a typo error in the PSLE Chinese paper. Wonder if it will be in the 'news' soon.

According to my trusty online English-Chinese dictionary, it is 吉祥物 (jí xiáng wù). Right or not har? If it is up to me, I would have called it 怪物 or "马师哥". I think the markers of this year's paper are in for a good laugh.

No. It's not correct. The term is "动物人偶“ or if the child doesn't know, can say "工作人员扮演的动物

Normally, when we say "mascot" in English, it meant just one kind of representative figure. But outside the zoo, or any theme parks, you see more than one of those dressed up either as animals or cartoon figures, so cannot use 吉祥物
