I was seeing through the calendar sheet given by Brands. I thought there were printing error but when I checked at the MOE website, it also shown these:

Teacher's Day 2nd sept ( I thought it's 1st sept)
Children's Day 7th Oct. ( I thought it's 1st oct)

MOE did mention that it will be celebrated on first Friday of the respective months to give teachers a better break (long weekends).

yes. That is true. Previously when Teacher's day falls on a weekend, I don't think they have off...

With effect from next yr, Teachers' Day and Children's Day will fall on first Friday of the month...to allow both teachers and children to enjoy longer weekend. This is wonderful news, coming from MOE :celebrate:

this is great news for teachers as i seriously feel that they really need to be appreciated... as previously i have heard that last time when teachers' day or children's day falls on sat there is no replacement at all.
