I think there are a couple of similar threads if you do a search. Off the top of my head, some titles across genres will include:

Ender's Game
The Giver
Northern Lights

(above three are 'challenging reads' in terms of content. Some parents may not feel comfortable having their kids read them, pls pre read)

The mysterious benedict society
The book thief
The Hatchet
Chinese Cinderella (highly endorsed by an 11yr old I know)

Etc.
