At first I didn't mention any of the schools posting until he approached me with questions on which are the schools that have GEP classes and that's how we have this topic going.

Any statistics how many kids are offered but did not take up the offer after the GEP selection test yearly? For these kids, correct me if I am wrong, will still skip GAT during DSA process at P6.
No. All mainstream students have to take GAT for DSA, regardless of whether you qualified for GEP or not in P3. It is the training that the GEP students went through from P4-6 that the IP schools value, not the P3 selection test results.

Wow, congratulations!
I suppose he has to change school?
To be frank, I am very nervous about the result and the many "what if"?

Guess as parent, I very much wanted my son to get into GEP but at the same time, I am worried that if he gets in, will he be able to cope with the workload?

I read from GEPers parents comments that the workload is very heavy.

And if my son didn't get in, how will he take it???

Aiyooooo!!! My brain is bursting from all the 'what if" :stupid:

ha ha.. I understand.. very curious to know.. very excited to know... the work is different from mainstream as they will get to do projects which they never do before from p1 to p3 ,,, the term 1 and term2 are more stress for most kids, I presume, as they would need to adapt to new systems and handle projects and for geper's mum.. the gan jong type like me also pretty stress initially as did not know what to expect.. but thing gets better after term 2.... anyway diff ge kid will face it differently ....

So early, the results! Tot MOE's letter stated early Nov.

Hmm, not good as dd will be doing her SA2 during the 1st week of Nov. If it's bad news, sigh .................... Then again, she told me yesterday and today that she doesn't want to change school cos she loves her friends and FT too much. Btw her school doesn't offer GEP classes.

MOE says 31st Oct but school maybe informed the next week.

I heard from my son that several of his friends have the same comments as your daughter... :-)

And if your daughter really makes it into GEP, are you really keeping her in her current school according to her wish?

I certainly hope I can join you as a GEPer mom..heehee
I mean I really hope my son can get into GEP and if workload is heavy, we will face it when it comes and I believe with good planning, it should be better after a while.

Vlim, how did you talk to your son then after the result was released so that he changed his mind to do GEP?
