Don’t fret. We’re leaving heavy rain in SG now too. Maybe good chance to catch up with yr new found German & French frds? Thanks for sharing yr journey. Hope the sky clears up for the rest of yr trip.

SL,
Not sure if you will be going Dunedin? We enjoyed that place and the Cadbury chocolate factory tour.

Btw is this your second trip to NZ this year? Envy you!

Enjoy your trip!

Around 2pm, the rain eased and we were so glad. The German and French ladies turned up. Together the 5 of us hopped onto the mini van to visit Lake Matheson

It is a lake famous for reflections.

A round the lake walking trip takes about 2hr.

Dd and I enjoyed the walk esp with this cooling weather.

Dh questioned why we spent money to walk :(

Indeed, a pair of strong legs is essential when travelling. We walked a lot today and hubby said today (16 May 2019) is a walking day.

We walked for about 1.5hr at Canavans Knob Walk. We walked for about 2hr at Lake Matheson.

Surely we won't be fit enough to do much walking a few years later.

The weather improved and we had a good view of the glacier at Franz Josef before travelling south
