Postby mamalade » Wed Jan 07, 2009 5:21 pm

I've discovered this site by chance and feel I should be able to relate to most topics!

I am a full-time mom of 2 - son in P3 and daughter in P1. =D

Cheers!

Heyya mamalade,

I was laughing out loud to your reply..
"Salaries cannot be disclosed..."

Cause i feel the same way..
Heheeee...

Plus, our workload as SAHM (Stay-Home-Mumsie)
is hard to define by dollars and sense...

How much should we allot the monthly salary to :

1. Cooking
2. Cleaning
3. Washing
4. Birthing
5. Child Caring
6. Teaching
7. "Night Duties?" (with the boss)

Seriously, man.....
No $$$ will be enuf to cover all that.
Ahahaha!
Buuuuutttt....

As a guideline,

1. Weekly spa treat is good
2. Additional facial (extra points)
3. Hi-tea off days with girl frenz wud be great
4. Movie nights (to catch up with adult dictionary)
5. Monthly shopping buffet retreat (note the word - "buffet")
6. Tender lovin care (TLC) for being super mum+wifey
7. Being APPRECIATED is theeeee BEST!

Cheerios!
Welcome mamalade!

Hi ya Buds!

Yes actually, how much $$ is enuff? You are right, it can never be justified!

Let me add on to the "job list" the occupation way (geez we should get a degree for all these) :

8) Chauffeur
9) Secretary
10) Law Enforcer
11) Nurse
12) Dietician
13) Waitress
14) Kopi-soh
..... anymore to add?

I love your guidelines! But seriously, I also feel bad when I feel I need a break from the family even though I know its alright to get a break once a while. Once a month is good enough for me. When was the last time I had a day out with my girlfriends? Ermmmm.... maybe like 3 years ago man....

Nice to be here Buds!

Heyya mamalade,

A rested mummy is a happy mummy!
Take time out when you can...

The guilt will go away when you're at
ease with your friends or just some
quiet time for yourself. Hehee..
Like when the kids go to school,
can have quiet sip of cappucino and
a nice dessert from Delifrance.. Very
therapeutic! :D

Important to have some "me" time for
stay home mums to stay sane, active
and most importantly happy! Tho we
ARE happy just being with our children,
but some "me" time will make one even
HAPPIER!

Helps with adult vocabulary too, going out
with all the girlfriends! If I don't hang out
with my friends for some time, my hubs
will ask me to shoo out and make appt to
have my time off. Full time ya know!
Its no joke!

Take care, mamalade.
Cheers.
