I would suggest that you and your hubby read through the stickies at Primary School Selection and Registration in the forum here.

proximity to school do not guarantee school admission. It only come in consideration should there is a need for balloting.

Well said, tankee. A friend of mine bought a flat that overlooks the field of a very popular school, paid a bomb for that flat, thinking that he stood a very good chance of getting his kids into his dream school, but in the end, got balloted out!

Yup, this happens. I've heard of daughter's classmate who stays near to De La Salle (very near) but still have to ballot within 1km.
