SAHM mom with P5 kid

Postby Busiemomma » Thu Jun 30, 2011 1:00 pm

I just recently turned SAHM mom and am finding it a breath of fresh air considering that I used to work 14hr days. I'm loving it right now but the down side is that I'm focusing all my energies on my kid and trying not to nag her to death.

I hope that I can connect with parents of P5 children to seek advice on how to prep my child for her exams.

I'm usually not an overly concerned parent but when her results from SA1 came out, we had a rude awakening, to say the least. Her usually good marks in Maths became a red mark, which was very shocking to us.

So now we are looking for ways to help her regain her confidence and to find a maths centre that will help her to understand the application of heuristic concepts to the problems in Sections B and C.

I'm living in Pasir Ris but can't seem to find a good centre based around here. Any advice?

:welcome: Check up the thread of Preparing Kid for P5. There are some very active parents like Janet, Pixiedust, Champion and Chenonceau in there who may be able to advise you.

No worries, most parents and P5 kids get a rude shock at CA1 and SA1. This is no surprise as most schools pull that at start of P5 to get kids to work harder for P6.
