The recruits were released in batches, the earliest batch left around afternoon 3+pm.

According to elder boy, every Friday release timing is different.

He needs to reach Pasir Ris bus interchange by 6.30pm this Sunday.

Elder boy is down with coughing for the past two days. A few other recruits are also coughing.

He went to see the medical officer and was given two days of light duty.

The medications he brought home was the common ones usu. prescribed by GP.

I was told that OTC medicine are disallowed. Any medicine we bring into camp must be prescribed by doctors.

Previously I have told him to go to the clinic and request the GP to sell him some common medicine before he was enlisted, just like we buy travelers' medicine.

Accompanied elder boy to the GP this morning.

The back of the throat and the nose linings are very swollen. GP prescribed 3 days of antibiotics, antihistamines, cough suppressant and a nasal spray.

Turned out the GP's boy who was enlisted this year 7th Jan, also suffered coughing in Tekong.

Due to elder boy's history of allergic rhinitis, the GP recommended the using of nasal spray for the long NS period else we will see elder boy getting cold symptoms frequently.

Try making cooling tea for him when he is back on weekends. Think should be helpful.

Cough is one of the common things the boys bring home..
Kong kong kong all the way home from Tekong..

My brothers' first trip back home, also coughing. Their bodies will adjust to the climate, training and they will learn how to better deal with these common ailments to prevent recurrence and even pre-empting, so that condition doesn't deteriorate while in-camp. Yes, can bring in prescribed medication.
