He felt better for a few days but it seemed like the cough might be coming back again.

cough and rashes seem to be common with recruits.
hope your son is able to tide through this tough period.

At the moment he is coping ok, not too tedious for him.

They are going for a one day live firing the coming Friday in Jurong, will come back home on Sat morning as the ferry service is unavailable by the time they are ready to leave the camp after going back from Jurong.

All medicine must bear his name, dispensed from a clinic. Cannot be OTC medicine bought from Unity pharmacy etc.

Ah boy has been coughing more badly though the fever comes on and off.

So we visited the GP again this morning.

GP informed us it is likely to be influenza going on at the moment, would take 1 to 2 weeks to fully recover. Prescribed a stronger cough syrup, taken 3 times a day for the weekends, then if no more fever for these two days, ah boy can go back to school next week, excused from PE and CCA for the whole week.

I bought this LocknLock storage box from the LocknLock shop @ Jem as I could not find a suitable tall and slim one from departmental stores (OG, Robinsons).

The item code is HPL-712, retail price $8.50

Elder boy says only A4 size storage box allowed, to bring in and store food. So bring back home on book out day, bring back camp on book in day. No point getting a big one as it takes up space in the bag.

He could put in an unopened Post Morning pack of cereal and 3 granola bars in the box each time.

Good to bring some coins too so that can buy canned or bottled drinks from the vending machine. On days when he feels like a headache is coming up, he buys an isotonic drink, supposedly cures headache, he says.

Elder boy will be off to shooting practice after lunch, then go watch a movie and compare "NS notes" with some school mates, also enlisted in Jan
