Hi Jen, all the best to your DS today. Btw- I haven't search on more abt the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) which is the equivalent of GEC O levels. I'll keep u informed if I have collected more details on it.

Knowing me, try first, see how later. Sharing the following with friends here.

********************************************************
Dear Sir/Madam,

Each year, MOE will release the total number of pupils who sat for the PSLE and give a breakdown of the % of pupils eligible for the various streams as well as the % of pupils who did not pass the PSLE.

I would like to enquire whether it is possible for MOE to release the data on the % of pupils attaining the ranges of T-scores.

For example,

T-score 200 to 210 - % of pupils
T-score 210 to 220 - % of pupils
...
T-score 270 to 280 - % of pupils
T-score 280 & above - % of pupils

I feel that such data will be useful for parents and pupils to plan which sec schools to put down in the S1 form.

I hope MOE will give my enquiry some thoughts.

Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Wong

Dear Sir/Madam,

I understand from many parents that their child finds this year PSLE papers easy compared to their schools' prelim papers. This holds true for the neighbourhood schools as well as the top schools. So much so that many children expressed disappointment that their hard work at completing loads of practice papers have been wasted as the PSLE papers were not challenging.

Many parents also expressed concerns of how the bell curve, T-scores and eventually the COP for secondary schools will be like for 2013 cohort.

Would MOE be able to do a press release to explain the situation?

This uncertainty is definitely causing more stress for parents than preparing their child for PSLE itself.

Thank you for your kind attention.

Regards,
Mrs Wong
