unlikely to get into NJC if based on past years' COP.

we still putting it as 1st choice, just to satisfy ah boy.

i think this year's COP should be 3-5 pts less than last year's COP....should still stand a chance...

think almost impossible.

last year COP is 259. we r 11 points short.

even appeal also difficult.

:hugs: This year with the lower scores, all parents are faced with similar dilemma. The COPs look like will be lower this year for sure, just donno how many pts lower. You can look at SJI, ACS(I) or Catholic High, how about Victoria?? There are still many other options to get confused over. Good luck, we are also cracking out brains, real huge headache.

Shouldn't you try to convince ds2 not to put NJC as first choice? Felt its better to put a more realistic option. There are still a lot of good schools apart from NJC. He will feel more dejected when he cant get in NJC as first choice.

Sorry, this is my personal opinion. No offence intended.

With your son kind of scores he is still eligible for many good schools. He did very well.

It is a tricky thing trying the balance a child's expectation and also managing their disappointments. I am sure you will be able to guide your Ah Boy through his selection of his future school.

:thankyou: all

We attended Catholic High open house this morning.

Spoke to some of the students - very matured n well mannered.

Ah boy initially did not want to even consider this sch, now he has changed his mind.

Ah boy is a typical engineer minded person. No amount of talking w/o seeing will move him.

Telling him it is wishful thinking to apply at NJC, he says he wants to try.

His score is really a not here or there based on distance consideration as well as co-ed vs all boys school.

I let him combed through the booklet. He then realised that there are not many co-ed schools that matches his score well and are not too far away.

Like what I hv told some close friends, his score makes it a little tougher to choose schs. Not a bad score, just a little inconvenient.
