Honey helps make it easier to expel phlegm. It doesnt have to be manuka, even normal honey is good .The trick is to coat the throat with honey right before bedtime.

Get well soon .

Any idea why honey may help to expel phlegm ? ds is having lil bit of such cough now.
I thought sweet stuff may induce more phlegm production ?

The first time I tried this method, I was able to sleep through the night.

Yesterday I went to bed before 10pm, woke up around 1am due to phlegm lingering in the throat. Maybe due to that Black Asahi beer hubby urged me to try during dinner.

This morning up at 5.30am to go to market, clearly can't think properly. Even the butcher aunt commented I yet to wake up fully

I think honey was helpful in my case due to the tear n bleeding in my throat.

If you pass by a BreadTalk shop, look out for its marketing message that gives thanks to its customers, allowing BreadTalk to shine internationally.
Check out the message in Chinese characters.
It might give you a good laugh for a short while.

Ds throat was smoothe for a while after honey
Then he told me all the phlegm combine together in his throats into a ball :o
I have husky voice for abt 2 weeks , maybe due to Heaty n weather chg / hazy days week ago - I tried honey - it helps to coat n smooth my throat, need to eat few times a day whenever my voice husk
Taking normal aust honey fr Cs. Think a teaspoon honey does help , no need to mix in water . Take with plastic spoon n drink warm water minutes later .
May not need Manuka to soothe throat.

Glad to hear this.
I ate a spoon of honey yesterday, ah boy asked me why I did so - ate too many chocolate chips yesterday :spank: of course did not tell him the truth, must maintain good image :rotflmao:
Anyway, I still have two bottles not opened yet, expires in early 2019.
The other opened regular honey left the thick sticky layer at the bottom of the bottle.
I am wondering how this happened.
Never have honey condition as such in the past.
I keep the honey in the pantry cupboard, not fridge
Anyway, better finish the opened ones quickly.
2017 coming to an end soon.

I was told the thick sticky whitish layer is sugar- means this is not pure honey, mixed with sugar to trick consumers
Those Taiwan or china brand may have such issues.Discard the bottom layer since its sugar .
Btw, ds took cough syrup too - doc prescription few months ago , honey soothe dry itchy throat but not cure cough .

O
Let me check the colour tomorrow.

I have "fallen in love" with the OTC cough syrup - very effective to thin out the phlegm to expel easily.
