Yesterday was grey skies at Ambleside and Keswick. We picked up a rental car at Kendal, had a late lunch at Pizza Express (its Margherita done thin and crispy was surprisingly good, Sg Pizza Hut, Domino really no fight. Now I will miss UK pizza  ).

Kendal is a beautiful small town which keeps its old town charms with cobbled streets and Tudor style buildings. People are friendly too. We plan to return to Kendal earlier tomorrow to explore the town before returning the rental car and taking the train.

In Kendal, many shops close earlier.

Stopped by a carpark and chanced upon this shop display

I booked online a Stonehenge only morning with Golden Tours, paid S$91+ pax.
The package includes aircon coach transfers, audio guide, entrance fee and shuttle bus at Stonehenge.

The coach journey was abt 2 hrs to and 2 hrs return on a Sunday, which was considered smooth as there was no traffic jams, stopping only at the red lights.

We left the pick up at 8.30am n returned at drop off ard 2.30pm. We were allowed 2 hrs at the Stones which included waiting for the shuttle bus, travelling on the shuttle, visitor centre souvenir shopping, light snacks n drinks at the lounge. We spent almost an hour at the actual Stones site.

According to the coach driver, the surface road will be closed in a few years time to stop people from taking pics by the road side without paying entrance fee. An underground road will be constructed to bring visitors.

Pardon my pic taking. I still have trembling hands due to thyroid condition although no longer under medication.
