bingo. Maplewoods.
Our block is next to the main entrance of Nexus. There are quite a number of tall trees, hence the variety of birds we see around here. Early morning - chirping birds n some yakking ones. Plus can see the birds flying around.
Even at this time, apart from the road noise, we have sweet singing from birds.
Much more relaxing to the eyes.. mind.. and heart all this lush greenery and nature's daily gifts that comes a-knockin'.. Definitely more scenic than your once concrete-Cashew, aye?

We used to have a shui mei tree at our Cashew balcony. A pair of small yellow back birds came to make a nest. Could not see what happened to them in the end bcos we moved out and left the tree behind. Dunno think the new owner kept the tree cos I cant see the tree from the balcony when I went to visit the estate.
http://www.risa.co.uk/sla/song.php?songid=12722 Vincent Don McLean Starry, starry night Paint your palette blue and gray Look out on a summer's day With eyes that know the darkness in my soul... Shadows on the hills Sketch the trees and the daffodils Catch the breeze and the winter chills In colors on the snowy linen land.
Now I understand What you tried to say, to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free: They would not listen; they did not know how -- Perhaps they'll listen now.
Starry, starry night Flaming flowers that brightly blaze Swirling clouds in violet haze Reflect in Vincent's eyes of china blue Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand.
Now I understand What you tried to say, to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free: They would not listen; they did not know how-- Perhaps they'll listen now.
For they could not love you But still, your love was true And when no hope was left inside On that starry, starry night You took your life as lovers often do-- But I could've told you, Vincent: This world was never meant For one as beautiful as you.
Starry, Starry night Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn, a bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow.
Now I think I know What you tried to say, to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free: They would not listen; they're not listening still-- Perhaps they never will.
[Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) Dutch Painter]

Such a feelin's comin' over me There is wonder in most everything I see Not a cloud in the sky Got the sun in my eyes And I won't be surprised if it's a dream
Everything I want the world to be Is now coming true especially for me And the reason is clear It's because you are here You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen
I'm on the top of the world lookin' Down on creation and the only explanation I can find Is the love that I've found Ever since you've been around Your love's put me at the top of the world
Something in the wind has learned my name And it's tellin' me that things are not the same In the leaves on the trees And the touch of the breezeThere's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me
There is only one wish on my mind When this day is through I hope that I will find That tomorrow will be Just the same for you and me All I need will be mine if you are here
I'm on the top of the world lookin' Down on creation and the only explanation I can find Is the love that I've found Ever since you've been around Your love's put me at the top of the world
I'm on the top of the world lookin' Down on creation and the only explanation I can find Is the love that I've found Ever since you've been around Your love's put me at the top of the world
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain Telling me just what a fool I've been I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain And let me be alone again
The only girl I care about has gone away Looking for a brand new start But little does she know that when she left that day Along with her she took my heart
Rain please tell me know does that seem fair For her to steal my heart away when she don't care I can't love another when my heart's somewhere far away
The only girl I care about has gone away Looking for a brand new start But little does she know that when she left that day Along with her she took my heart
Rain won't you tell her that I love her so Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow Rain in her heart and let the love we knew start to grow
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain Telling me just what a fool I've been I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain And let me be alone again Oh listen to the falling rain
And I was just listening to the new songs lately, but they all sound more like noise to me than music. I may be an old fogey stuck with rose-tinted glasses of the yester-years, but surely I can tell the difference between talent and noise? Somehow, no one seem to be able to create new songs that are even close to the likes of all those great songs from the Carpenters, Abba, etc back in the 60s, 70s, and even the 80s. Since 1998, I gave up on new songs, and essentially stuck to listening only to the oldies goldies.
